CELEBRATING THE BEST OF
YOUNG EMERGING MOROCCAN MUSIC!
Following Pop Up Studio music residencies in Safi, Khouribga and El Jadida, the British Council and OCP Foundation—with the support of Marock’Jeunes Association—are inviting you to a 3-days concert series, from March 22 to 24, 2018 at Théâtre Royal, at 18.00 every night and promises a lineup of 20 emerging talents from Morocco.
This event is set up on behalf of fellows, who benefited from the Pop Up Studio program: an unprecedented opportunity to record with an established UK producer, Punch Records, who also provided full mentorships and workshops on music composition, marketing and communication. A total of 19 recorded songs have been produced and released as EP Singles, with artists and bands from El Jadida (5), Khouribga (6) and Safi (8).
Marrakech´s Théâtre Royal promises to stir the crowds, with high quality sounds recorded by Amy Winehouse Foundation resident producer Urban Monk, specially returning for the concert rehearsals, 19—21 March in Marrakech.
Pop Up Studio Concerts has drawn dozens of families, friends and inhabitants of host cities. Marrakech music lovers are encouraged to fully engage, in this unique experience, offering music in the most diverse and contemporary genres, picked from Morocco´s musical gem.
The goal of the Pop Up Studio programme is to create a platform for promotion and exchange for creative Moroccan youth and different professionals especially broadcasters, producers, festivals representatives and cultural media.
The event is free and open to all. Event program details, informations on the organizers and partners, the participants as well as daily coverages are available on:
