Registering for a course at the British Council is easy.

  • Book a level test by calling or visiting your nearest centre.
  • Together, the written level test and interview take between 60 and 90 minutes.
  • The test fee is 200 MAD.

Step 3

  • Take the test, find out your level, choose a course and pay the course fee.

Registration and course conditions

  • Places are limited and given on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • As with other organisations and institutions, we are closed on some national holidays. If there are national holidays during the term we will ensure that the whole syllabus is still covered.

We reserve the right to expel, without any refund, students who:

  • intentionally damage or steal our property
  • are disruptive
  • harass any course participant or staff member.

We reserve the right to cancel classes. If we cancel a class, we will offer students one of the following:

  • an alternative class time at the same level
  • a full refund (by cheque only)

Changing classes

Students can move:

  • from one class to another within the first two weeks of term, if there are places available
  • from one level to another if approved by the teacher.

Refunds and credit notes


  • The placement test fee is non-refundable. 
  • Refunds and credits will only be given in exceptional circumstances. 
  • Refund requests are only accepted if we receive your request and supporting documents before the end of the second week of the term. We require specific written documents to administer a refund or credit note.

Death or serious illness (hospitalisation or prolonged incapacitation) of an immediate (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) family member Death or medical certificate

No credits or refunds will be given for:

  • travel due to personal reasons
  • marriage of self/ family member
  • minor ailments like fever, cold, etc. will not be considered. 

Credits are transferrable only between members of the same family. You must submit a written request, which then needs to be approved and authorised by the centre manager.


  • 150 MAD will be deducted for refund requests received before the start of the course.

The following amounts will be deducted for requests received in the first or second week of the course:

  • Refund - 15% of the course fee
  • You will also be charged an hourly rate for the number of course hours prior to receipt of your request and accepted supporting documentation.
