Increased Resilience II partners recruitment is now open!
The British Council Morocco is looking to recruit implementing partner organisations based in Northern region of Morocco, with the aim to support delivering the IR2 programme approach to young people in at-risk communities within their local area and bring together different expertise to support a Collective Leadership approach that is inclusive and empowering.
Background
Since 2019, the British Council has worked through the “Strengthening Resilience” (SR2) and “Increased Resilience” (IR1) projects, supporting hundreds of young men and women to strengthen their own resilience and that of their communities. British Council’s approach is centred on empowerment and collective action, including creating ‘safe spaces’ for positive engagement between young people and local authorities and supporting young people and local authorities in their efforts to implement shared solutions to the problems that both have identified as being important.
IR1 a six-month project funded by the FCDO and implemented by the British Council Morocco in Fnideq and Martil where social pressures recently increased due to the migrant crisis and border closure during the pandemic (Covid-19). The project was designed to empower youth in their community, increase their access to opportunities, fostering positive connections and strengthening their capacity to address social issues through engaging them in the public sphere with various social and cultural engagements and volunteerism.
Building on the programming, the achievements and results from the precursor project IR1 will serve as a foundation for continuing the work through the new 3-year FCDO funded project “Increased Resilience II” (IR2) (2022-2025), which will continue and expand a tried-and-tested approach to engaging marginalised young people in communities of Northern Morocco, foster positive personal change and strengthen the capacity of young people and groups to address pressing social problems. The targeted outcomes of the IR2 new programme will include strengthening positive social connections with increased trust, increased opportunity, and inclusive action.
