Role overview

British Council Morocco is recruiting an hourly paid Teaching Centre Assistant for one year fixed term, for its Rabat Teaching Centre. We are looking for enthusiastic young people whose responsibilities would include but would not be limited to:

 

 · Supervising Young learners (YLs) entering and leaving the premises at the start and end of classes and during breaks

 

  · Monitoring of YLs in restricted areas, toilet breaks and of noise levels and standards of behaviour. 

· Supervision of students exiting after sessions (specifically those who require parental/carer supervision to leave) as per child protection policy and practice.   

· Set up of classrooms at the start of sessions and layout reorganised as agreed with the partner or as according to TC policy at the end of class.

· Management of up-to-datedness of class lists, and parent and proxy contacts.

· Occasionally supervise a class of learners for a short period in the absence of the teacher (but not to teach them as this is not a teaching position)

 

Applicants should have a secondary education in any field and a relevant experience with children paid or voluntary or any formal work experience that demonstrates you have the requisite skills and knowledge. Good level of speaking and writing in English, French (B1 level) and Arabic (C1).

Applicants need to have a pre-existing right to live and work in Morocco.
